In a "once-great" European city, sometime in the labyrinth of the 20th century, Josef, an amnesiac, absurdly polite traveller is led on an odyssey through a surreal, nocturnal landscape of metaphysical suitcases, poetry-reciting bears, improvised concerts and conspiracy theorists. Josef is assailed by a company of admirers whose fervor is both comic and menacing, dragging him toward stranger places, as the twisted shards of memory slowly form sinister shapes.
