Still Life by Peter Anderson
A 75-80 minute monologue, a poetic meditation on the end of life, a peek inside a
consciousness adrift. As her days wind down, an elderly woman sits in a chair in a room
overlooking a lake trying to determine whether the sun is rising or setting. The unresponsive
ghost of her late husband — which only she can see — sits in an empty chair opposite her.
Abandoned by the men in her life — her husband and her grown son — she struggles in vain to
make sense of it all.
