Piecing Together Pauline is a historical drama about 19th century opera singer Pauline Garcia Viardot who was the younger sister of opera sensation Maria Malibran and the muse of Russian novelist Ivan Turgenev. The play follows three stories: Pauline as a young artist, Pauline as a middle-aged diva and Pauline as a retired artist whose fame has vanished. The cast of characters include such historical figures as George Sand and Chopin, Maria Malibran, Gounod, Berlioz, Turgenev and Ary Scheffer.
