Marvin and Wendy are a middle-aged, career-oriented couple who have accidentally fallen into an impossible to climb out of sinkhole in a remote location at night. On the surface (physically and metaphorically) they live ideal, affluent lives, but truthfully, they harbor resentment for each other that boils over when facing with the biggest challenge of their lives, being stranded together in at the bottom of a sinkhole. Their relationship began to turn sour during their sixth year of marriage when a suspicious incident was not confronted, then grew, slowly consuming the joy in their lives, until we meet them nine years later, trapped in the hole. Rafe, a troubled homeless man, happens upon the couple. Can Rafe be the catalyst needed to rescue the couple from the holes they have fallen into? Will an audience exit the theatre with something to ponder?
