The exciting story of Cudjoe, a Jamaican folk hero. Set in the 17th Century, when the first Africans came to Jamaica as slaves, through storytelling, music and dance, the play tells of the slaves' fight for their freedom. First against the Spanish, then the English. The Maroons never lost a battle against the Spanish or the English. Before the Emancipation of the slaves throughout the Caribbean, the Maroons had their own towns, schools and were able to trade with the rest of Jamaica.
