A northern Ontario woman gives birth to quintuplets in 1934, and the resulting celebrity changes a whole family's life. Many years later, the quints return home to visit their dying mother. In a flood of memory and image, their lives are re-lived as the women, through Sylvie, try to make sense of their fiveness.
