Combining comedy and drama The Caramel House takes place on an Easter Weekend in a small town where life changes little and everyone knows their place. Audrey runs a print shop with her parents and is expecting her son Jeff to come home after taking a course at a college. When he returns she expects everything to return to normal but he surprises them all by bringing back a girl, Sandy, to whom he is engaged. As if that's not enough to throw a wrench into the Easter plans, Sandy is also Asian and has a child. Audrey finds her small world shaken and she must decide on what's truly important to her.
