A Cat and A Dog by Marvin Ishmael

A Cat and A Dog is a play written for younger audiences addressing many themes that are currently affecting our children. Stereotypes, bullying, teamwork, affirmation of worth, anti-racist behavior, our cultural past, dreams and aspirations.
A young Cat named Loy leaves her home for an adventure to see the world. She journeys to a new land where no one has seen a Cat before and encounters Dog who has only heard rumors about cats.

Facing attacks from Dog, cultural differences from Blue Jay, Suspicions from Chipmunk and stereotype expectations from Snake, Loy the Cat has to depend on her upbringing, her ancestral voices to bring all the animals together in this lively musical offering for K -5
