Son of a Temperance by Lori McIntyre

This comedic and dramatic play is inspired by the Temperance societies that existed in both Canada and the United States in the mid to late 1800's. Their mandate was to encourage others to adopt sobriety. Approximately, 5000 lodges were in existence at one time, and located from coast to coast. Throughout the play each member of the Lodge of the Good Templars has an unique relationship with alcohol. The conflicts they face and their subsequent reactions verge on both the ridiculous and heartfelt. It is a truly Canadian play that draws upon historical information to tell a fictional tale.
