It is 1934 and the Miller family is facing another summer of hardship asrelentless drought continues to grip Southern Alberta. With his older brother gone to ride the boxcars, 10 year old Charlie is left behind to deal with the farm chores and the brunt of his father’s frustration on his own. Charlie finds comfort in his books and his best friend Agnes, but both children are troubled by hushed, urgent tones of the adults around them. As Charlie and his Papa continue to grow apart we wonder if circumstances will allow them to find their way back to each other again.
