Emma needs to be very creative, energetic and joyful to work as a therapeutic clown (Dr. Pretzel) in a hospital for sick children. She has been separated for over a year. When her teenage son Louis visits to postpone their weekend together and her colleague and close friend Graham (Dr. Noodle) talks about the possibility of changing jobs, Emma feels particularly lonely. But something wonderful happens that takes her by surprise. This funny and touching story also provides a behind-the-scene look at the amazing work and dedication of therapeutic clowns and the difference they make to the lives of many sick children.
