When their town goes into a deep freeze and everyone is stuck inside, people start to lose their connection to the world. Words vanish for a librarian, a chef loses his taste for food, and a mail carrier has no mail to deliver. Two friends go on a mission to find one-another again and to rediscover their town, hoping that everyone will be able to gather again.Gather is about closing distances and learning to really see our world again - along with everything we may have missed before and everyone we’ve missed for so long.GATHER was inspired by a group of youth collaborators, and influenced by inclusive methods of storytelling, like EVERY BRILLIANT THING. It is a play that also creates a community. As The Chicago Reader wrote, Gather brings a "hopeful and expansive feeling to its audience in delightful and authentic ways."
