Dark Sanctuary by Steve Robinson & Bill Ashwell

DARK SANCTUARY: is a two Act light drama co-written with Bill Ashwell. It is meant to be an homage to 1950's film noir. It tells the story of a parish priest who is forced to defend one of his parishoners accused of assault and armed robbery. Troubled teen Nicky Denucci stumbles into Father O'Rourke's parish, a knife wound in his gut, begging for "sanctuary". Detective Widmark arrives shortly thereafter, intent on arresting him for the robbery of Polanski's Jewellery store earlier that evening. Can Father O'Rourke and his feisty housekeeper, Mrs. Moorhead, prove Nicky's innocence, or will the skeletons in each of their pasts stop them in their tracks?
