Crossroads by Graham Duncan

Every worker must confront his final days on the job. All stories have an ending.
So what happens when the story has no apparent ending and the job isn’t a job, it’s a passion, a way of life with a live audience five nights a week?

Jack London has interviewed the greats of jazz on his nightly radio show. His show, once a national juggernaut, has faced declining audiences in recent years. Working in the corporate realities of today, Jack has endured multiple corporate takeovers. His relationship with his boss, station manager Ted Stanton, has been stormy. The two have been through the wars, sometimes on the same side, more often as foes and while a wariness is always present between them, respect runs deep.

Tonight, the clash between radio legend and the corporate overlords comes to a head. The repercussions not only for Jack and Ted, but also for reporter Kable Vise and engineer Fleetwood Redmayne, both still finding their ways in the workplace, weigh heavily on Jack as he seeks a way forward.
