At the Edge of Summer by Dyanna Jacklin

Muskoka, 1966. Mac and Kenny arrive at their long time cottage for the summer to find there is a much bigger, much newer cottage next door. Kenny is thrilled to learn two teenage girls live next door, but Mac is angry. His longstanding family land has been sold to city dwellers. He and the confident, strong-willed Neely butt heads immediately, while Kenny has fallen head over heels in love with the beautiful Annette, who has no idea what she's doing in the heart of cottage country. Over the course of several years, we watch pivotal moments in their lives shape them into the adults they will become, all while enjoying the nostalgia of Muskoka in the late 60s and early 70s.
