Several years after the 2003 invasion of Iraq, Khalil Najim, the Director of the Iraq Museum, receives a strange visitor: the young boy Dawood, who claims to have found a mask that belongs to the museum. Intrigued, and hoping the mask to be a prized artifact long thought lost forever since the invasion and the looting, Khalil agrees to give the boy the reward money if the mask is genuine. Dawood's arrival, however, sets off a series of events that eventually reveal the full truth about the looting of the museum that happened so many years before, and brings all the characters into a final confrontation as the desperation of the circumstances reaches a boiling point.
