Inspired by an old Athabascan story. Elena and Bernadette, two middle-aged women, are cast out of their community for being too old to be useful and are thrust into a desolate post-apocalyptic landscape to survive on their own, or perish. With technology dead the women must revive their knowledge of traditional survival skills if they are to live. Will their reluctant society of two, fueled by stubbornness and wit, be strong enough to survive the barren land, and the arrival of a handsome young man?
